About Sonja Rodney & Libera Mentis Counselling
Online Counselling in Croydon
Welcome to Libera Mentis Counselling. I’m Sonja Rodney, a qualified, accredited counsellor based in Croydon, UK, offering online counselling to help you navigate life’s challenges. Through video therapy sessions via platforms like Zoom, MS Teams, and Google Meet, I provide the flexibility to connect from the comfort of your own space, whether you're seeking counselling in Croydon, elsewhere in the UK, or even internationally.
I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. My goal is to support you in overcoming issues like anxiety, stress, grief, and trauma, and empower you to make positive, lasting changes in your life.

About Me: A Personal Journey with You in Mind
I come from a diverse background, born and raised in London with roots in Northern Ireland and Trinidad & Tobago. Over the years, my life experiences have shaped how I see the world, and I’ve developed a deep understanding of the complexities of human nature through travel and a rich variety of personal experiences. I have experienced childhood trauma, as well as trauma in adulthood and I have suffered a number of bereavements, sometimes questioning my faith & spirituality. I struggled with narcissistic abuse which left me broken for a number of years. But with the help of therapy I am the person I am today: fulfilled in the work I do with others like you & I. These influences help me bring genuine empathy and an open mind to my practice. In my work, I truly value each person and the wisdom they bring from their own life journey. I believe in the power of different perspectives, and so alongside extensive training, I use those past experiences to help you find clarity, healing, and growth.

What You Can Expect in Online Therapy
I offer online counselling sessions via Zoom, MS Teams, or Google Meet, so you can access support from anywhere you feel most comfortable. Whether you’re in Croydon, another part of the UK, or abroad, I provide a secure, confidential space for you to speak freely.
Online therapy is an excellent option for many, as it allows you to connect from your own space, making you feel more at ease and open during our sessions. Your privacy and confidentiality are paramount to me, and I ensure that every session is conducted in a safe and supportive environment.
